No matter how successful you become, when your insecurities are the motivation of your work, you will never be satisfied. Tyler Deeb, Founder of Misc. Goods Co. joins us this week to share his creative journey, experience as a designer, and the joy and pain of launching his own business.
Tyler Deeb is a designer, creative director, entrepreneur, family man, and business owner. His company, Misc. Goods Co. was born during a difficult time for Tyler. He wasn’t planning or even dreaming of running a product company. The idea of the company wasn’t sparked from a conversation among friends.
It emerged from a dry spell as a freelance designer and took shape as Tyler allowed his work to bend and shift; changing as the opportunity came and working hard when it did. This opportunity for Tyler came in the form of a successful Kickstarter campaign for a re-designed deck of playing cards that would change his life.
Since then, Misc. Goods have created a whole collection of different products including ceramic flasks, leather wallets, and leather belts. Deeb has carved out a niche with his brand by focusing on everything good - from the usefulness of the products to customer service to remaining ethical in all manufacturing.
