Ep. 7 – Be Curious and Embrace Your Creative Fluidity with Joonbug
New episode with multi-talented artist Joonbug
Inspiration can truly come from anywhere, and in Joonbug’s case, this has ranged from the great Jamaican outdoors to the inside of a McDonald’s drive-thru. In this week’s episode, we sit down with Joonbug to discuss his fluid, yet intentional approach to art and creativity, some of the latest tools driving his work, and how his perspective on money has shifted over the years as an artist.
Calling Joonbug an artist almost feels like an understatement. He's a talented illustrator, graphic designer, fashion merchandiser, photographer, painter, and videographer. Maybe you know Joon from his Bugs87 work or coffee-infused clothing brand, Fresh Kaufee. And if you don’t, we’re thrilled to introduce you to this uber-talented Oakland-based Jamaican with a habit of being in the right place at the right time.
Joonbug works full-time as a multidisciplinary artist in Oakland, California. His Jamaican roots largely influence the voice in his style, a mix of rhythm, soul, and character. In this week’s episode, we sit down with Joonbug to discuss his fluid, yet intentional approach to creativity, some of the latest tools driving his work, and how his perspective on money has shifted over the years as an artist.
Show some love and support for Joonbug by following him on all of his different Instagram accounts. It’s the best way to connect with him and stay updated on what he has coming up this year: Shutterbugs87, TheBugs87, FreshKaufee.
